Sustainability

#TeamFnP are currently working with a UK based supplier that is taking multiple conscious and passionate steps to ensure they run as sustainably as possible.

Its our mission to provide the freshest but most eco-friendly garments around the world! They try their best to maximize sustainability in all aspects of business. From, energy usage, production, materials, packaging and recycling. Lets take a look at what these steps are.

Packaging:

  • By 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. FISHNPIFF partnered with a supplier who cares about their impact on the planet. So, all orders are shipped in sustainable, eco-friendly packaging, designed with the environment in mind and made with natural materials. They are rip-proof, splash-proof mailers made from paper.
  • Big orders come in cardboard boxes, with paper-based tape

Energy Usage:

  • Clean, renewable energy is a vital tool to reduce negative impacts on the planet. Our suppliers manufacturing operations run on solar power and, in India, the factory owns two wind farms and a 150kw PV array.
  • All their factories are powered by renewable energy.

Production:

  • Print on demand production, means we can help to cut down on waste and overproduction by only making what customers need, when they need it.
  • High tech printing machines help to reduce the waste even further.

Materials:

  • Products are made from 100% GOTS certified organic cotton. Organically grown natural materials have more positive outcomes for the environment and the people working in it.
  • Organic cotton farming methods that are better for producers and the ecosystem around the farms. Instead of more toxic pesticides and fertilizers, co-planting and insect traps are used.
  • Our suppliers organic cotton is grown in the North of India where monsoon rains provide the water needed to grow the crop.

Ocean-Friendly Inks:

  • Our supplier even synthesized a new chemical, to make sure they could have an organic, water-based ink that was compatible with their printers and the Reemill process.
  • These water based, low waste Ricoh liquid powder toner inks come in recyclable cartridges and packaging. They also conform to GOTS, Oeko-Tex and Soil Association criteria.

Water:

  • Wastewater from dye-house's is a major source of pollution in the clothing industry.
  • The dyed-water used while making the garments is recovered, cleaned and recirculated.
  • About 95% of the water is recirculated and recovered.
  • At the end, the water coming out of the filters and going back round to be reused again is crystal clear.
  • Once it has been cleaned, it is then used at the input for the next batch. It is a closed loop system.

    Remill:

    • All FishnPiff products have a QR code on the label. Simply scan here and be taken to instructions on how to return the items back to Remill.
    • Additionally, you can send back any other branded 100% cotton clothing items you have (excluding denim and underwear) in return will receive a Remill store credit, which can be used at selected stores.
    • Every product is designed to be returned back to Remill when it’s worn out. They make new products from the cotton material they recover. Recycled items form part of a circular economy. The world's first circular supply chain.

    Extras:

    • Monthly tree planting schemes sequester enough carbon to make the product life cycle net zero.
    • 2 million tonnes of textile waste is produced every year.
    • 40% of all clothing production is never utilized.
    • By using a print on demand model we are able to avoid adding to that number, by only producing what’s needed when it’s needed.

Our suppliers multiple certifications: GOTS, OEKO-TEX standard 100, OEKO-TEX Detox to zero, SA8000, FLOCERT, WRAP Platinum, Nordic SWAN, GRS, IGBC Green Factory
